February 25, 2017 – The unstoppable Mohammad Chehab added another victory to his record as he powered to first place in the T3 category at Umm Al Qaiwain Rally, the second round of the 2017 UAE Rally Championship.
Driving a Yamaha YXZ1000R alongside fellow countryman Rony Maroun, Chehab claimed his third career victory in the rally championship following on from his two class wins last year in Fujairah Rally and Al Dhaid Rally – also next to Maroun.
“I would like to thank Shk Abdulla Aaq for the support and advice on and off the track. I’m glad I can pay it back by finishing first in class and showing consistency. Of course, none of that would have happened without the amazing Rony Maroun as well.” said Chehab.
It is worth mentioning that Chehab missed the first round due to mechanical problems. However, that should not be a problem for him as the regulations state that 4 out of 5 rounds will be counted in the final championship classification.
