March 28, 2017 – Mohammad Chehab finished 3rd overall in the fourth round of the UAE Autocross Championship last Friday despite crashing out and suffering from bruises.
Chehab crashed his Silvercar ST2 on the final run of the Autocross event, but his time in the previous run was enough for him to finish on the podium and maintain a comfortable 17-point lead in the championship with 2 more rounds to go.
The bruises didn’t stop Chehab from racing in Ras Al Khaimah Rally the next day, and he produced a stellar performance alongside co-driver Rony Maroun to secure a T3 class victory onboard the Yamaha YXZ1000R.
The young Lebanese driver also leads the UAE Rally Championship in the T3 category by 25 points.
“I put Friday’s incident behind me and set my mind on securing the win in the Rally. I was posting competitive times and I was at some point faster than the Group N cars. Rony’s pacenotes gave me the confidence to drive flatout and I think that’s what made us really fast.” said Chehab.
He added: “I would like to thank Shk Abdalla Al Qassimi for his support and for believing in me. Thanks to EMC for the beautiful organization and thanks to my father and friends for their continuous support.
