Motortune Racing drivers impress in Antibes Côte d’Azur Rally despite retirement

Motortune Racing drivers Roger Feghali and Chafic Boulos have retired from the fourth round of the 2014 French Rally Championship, also known as the 49th Antibes Côte d’Azur Rally.

Feghali and co-driver Joseph Matar were running third overall and first in the S2000 class, but an accident on the second day’s second special stage (SS8) forced the pair to retire from the rally. Chafic Boulos and co-driver Marc Haddad’s rally came to an end when they crashed a stage later (SS9). Boulos was 43rd overall and tenth in the R2 category before his retirement. All four men escaped the accidents unscathed.

Both Lebanese drivers showed exceptional levels of performance against an entry list of more than 100 drivers, including Hyundai World Rally Team’s Bryan Bouffier. Roger and Chafic can walk away proudly for the pace that they have shown in front of thousands of spectators.

The 49th Antibes Côte d’Azur Rally kicked off on Friday, May 30, with six special stages scheduled for the day, followed by six special stages on Saturday. Special Stages covered 212.58 kilometers of the 674.36-kilometer total distance.
