August 17, 2016 – Qatar’s Nasser Al-Attiyah will compete in the 39th Rally of Lebanon in September, the Automobile & Touring Club of Lebanon (ATCL) has confirmed via a post on its official Facebook page.
Al-Attiyah will most likely drive the Skoda Fabia R5 that he used in last year’s event, from which he retired after crashing out on the third special stage; the Qatari was in the lead, 4.6 seconds in front of Roger Feghali, who went to win by a massive 6-minute margin.
The two-time Dakar Rally winner and 11-time Middle East Rally Champion is yet to win Rally of Lebanon; he came close on three occasions, in 2013, 2011 and 2007, finishing 2nd overall.
