Nasser Al Attiyah will start his crown defense in the MERC this year from Qatar on a Peugeot 207 S2000 Car. The Qatari Heads the entry list for the rally that features the return of Lebanese driver Nick Georgiou who will be accompanied by Nabil Njeim, former Lebanese Champion and Roger Feghali’s driver for many years. Qatar will feature Mubarak Al-Hajri, Misfer Al-Safran, Khalifa Al-Attiyah, Khalid Al-Suwaidi and Jaber Al-Marri, with Abdul Aziz Al Kuwari driving an S2000 Mini prepared by Tok Sport. The Rally will also see the participation of Essam and Meshal Al-Nejadi, Saleh Bin Eidan, Meshari Al-Thafiri and Fahad Ashkanani, in addition to the ever present Michel Saleh. From Jordan Rasheed Alaa, Mazan Tantash and Ammar Hijazi will be taking part with the latter driving a Ford Fiesta S2000.
Highly rated Turkish female driver Burcu Cetinkaya will be driving a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X, and Switzerland’s Edith Weiss has also entered the event in a Subaru Impreza.
The event will take place between the 26th and 28th of January.
