A Champion from Qatar

Nasser Al-Attiyah remains one of the most dominant and respected figures in the history of the Dakar Rally. The five-time Dakar winner from Qatar continues to push the limits of cross-country rallying, competing at the highest level at 55 years old while balancing life as a father of two.

From First Steps to Dakar Greatness

Al-Attiyah made his Dakar Rally debut in 2004 at the wheel of a Mitsubishi, finishing an impressive 10th. That early performance was a sign of things to come, launching a career that would see him become one of the most successful drivers ever to compete in the event.

Winning with Three Different Manufacturers

Few drivers in Dakar history have demonstrated the adaptability shown by Nasser Al-Attiyah. His first Dakar victory came in 2011 with the Volkswagen Race Touareg, followed by another triumph in 2015 with Mini. He later entered a dominant era with Toyota, securing victories in 2019, 2022, and 2023.

Winning Dakar with three different manufacturers places Al-Attiyah in an elite category of rally legends.

A New Era with Dacia Sandriders

For the latest chapter of his career, Al-Attiyah competes in the Ultimate Cars category with the Dacia Sandriders, taking on a bold new challenge. The project represents a fresh technical direction and renewed ambition as he targets further success in the world’s toughest rally.

Fabian Lurquin: A New Voice in the Car

After a season and a half racing alongside Edouard Boulanger, Al-Attiyah teams up with Fabian Lurquin as his new co-driver. The pairing was formed following a swap with teammate Sébastien Loeb, bringing together two highly experienced competitors.

Al-Attiyah and Lurquin have already begun building their working relationship during the final two rounds of the World Championship, laying strong foundations for Dakar.

Eyes Firmly on Victory

Speaking about the partnership, Al-Attiyah expressed confidence in the new collaboration:

“We will help each other to win this rally.”

With Fabian Lurquin reading the roadbook, the Dacia Sandriders providing cutting-edge performance, and Al-Attiyah’s unmatched Dakar experience, the Qatari legend once again lines up as a leading contender for overall victory.
