August 31, 2017 – When the Infiniti QX50 was originally introduced as the Infiniti EX35, it was one of the hottest crossovers in its segment as it offered a choice of rear-wheel or all-Wheel Drive, in addition to one of the most powerful engines in its class.
Today, the QX50 remains one of the most powerful and desired crossovers in the segment, and we’ve recently spent time in the luxury crossover – courtesy of RYMCO – to check out what it’s all about.
Infiniti introduced several updates to the QX50, compared to the EX35, starting with the addition of 3.2 inches to the wheelbase and a revised exterior that brings its design closer in look and feel to other Infiniti models such as the sporty Q50 sedan. Standard content has also been increased, including the addition of a moonroof for all grade levels.
In terms of performance, the QX50 comes with a 3.7-liter V6 engine rated at 325 horsepower and 362 Nm of torque, which are figures that you usually see in sports cars and bigger SUVs. The engine is matched with a 7-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mod.
There’s truly no shortage of power in the QX50; the performance was a pleasant surprise as the QX50 is both comfortable to cruise is and delivers ample power when needed by the driver, so you’ll find it quite suitable for the majority of driving conditions.
Infiniti didn’t hold back on the features either, as you’ll find plenty in the QX50, including a 7-inch color display with Infiniti controller, Bose Premium Audio System with 11 speakers, including 2 subwoofers, Advanced Climate Control System (ACCS) with Plasmacluster air purifier, dual occupant memory system for driver’s seat, entry/exit assist for driver’s seat and steering wheel, outside mirrors with reverse tilt-down feature, auto-dimming inside mirror.
It’s comfortable to drive, delivers lots of power and can easily carry up to 5 people in a quality cabin that isn’t low on luxury and practicality. In other words, the QX50 is a crossover like no other and it’s an absolute bargain with that powerful V6 under the hood.
