On his first outing in his new EVO X 10 R4 Amiouni shows promising pace and although he struggled with a puncture in the last stage he was able to push the car to the end and retain his second place. Check what he had to say after the rally.
First off, congratulations on your second place, we see you onboard a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X R4 for the first time, tell us more about it and the Rally.
It was a tough rally, a bit tricky in SS1. The car’s new, needs a lot of work, we were improving on each stage. We definitely need to improve and strive for the upcoming rally.
Were you happy with your result today?
I’m quite happy, but there’s a lot of work ahead, we need to get used to the car. Today wasn’t my peak performance, I’m still not very accustomed to the car, but there’s still a lot more to come. We have to start today before tomorrow.
You suffered from a puncture in SS5, tell us more about it.
Yes, indeed. It was early in the stage; it was a bit exciting actually, we pushed a lot in order not to lose our 2nd position. It was nice.
Are you switching back to the Evolution IX in Jordan?
No no, we’re not going to Jordan, if there’s no budget, there’s no Jordan. We’re sticking to local Rallies.
What about the Hill Climbs?
We’re gonna try, we’re definitely gonna try to do something in the Hill climbs and most importantly we should work on improving.
