Peugeot Sport Lebanon: The Best is Yet to Come

Initially launched with only five cars, Peugeot Sport Lebanon gathers today over 200 members. The group has great potential as the number of members is remarkably increasing, highlighted by the efforts of Administrator Mauricio Azar and the devoted group members. Peugeot Sport Lebanon became as active as it is today…and the better is yet to come!

Azar underlined new ideas and set new plans and strategies to the improvement of the group activities. His main objective was to mix between the passion for cars and the community.

The first memorable event was launched on July 15th. Fifteen cars participated in the cruising event across the Mountain heading towards Maaser El Chouf. Peugeot Sport Lebanon adopted a Cedar tree in the forest that was dubbed after the group’s name. This successful event was a motive to all members and involved them further.

The second endeavor was more extreme. On October 14th 2012, the group launched the ‘We Care’ event, aiming at unveiling the group’s concern in social activities. Visiting orphans in St. Simon Monastery in Baskinta was the core element in the event’s planning. Preparing and organizing the event was the fruit of the cooperation between Peugeot Sport Lebanon, and SIDIA (Authorized dealers for Peugeot in Lebanon), represented by Ms. Joana Dagher with the collaboration of YASA and Lasip represented by Mr. Georges Metni.

The day started by gathering 23 cars next to ABC Dbayeh.
Destination: Baskinta village, and the monastery of Saint Simon to meet with the kids on a later stage.

The group members had the chance to play, sing and dance with the children. Peugeot Lebanon offered the kids several gifts along with some basic needs such as food and stationary.

Later on that day, and on the playground of Saint Simon monastery, Metni held an awareness session and gave the group members instructions about safety driving. On a circuit designed and set with the help of Azar and Metni, the kids enjoyed watching the cars of Peugeot Sport Group practicing the given safety instructions in a safe, fun, and exciting way.

The new Peugeot 208 was displayed and the members had the opportunity to experience the brand new design and implemented technology this new car has to offer.

At the end of this activity, Dagher presented prizes for the first three winning positions on behalf of SIDIA. YASA and Lasip had several prizes to offer as well. The winner benefited from a uniquely designed and produced, EU certified, helmet. Each group member was granted a traffic safety educational program #301 certificate, and a remarkable free driving school offered by Metni racing team and Lasip on a real racing car to one of the group members.

The successful event was crowned by a lunch at Sannine Village Restaurant, where members shared the best moments of the day.
