Porsche will reveal the first 992.2 GT model, likely the GT3 and GT3 Touring, on October 18, offering more individuality and innovative features.
Porsche is preparing to unveil the first GT model of the 992.2 generation, with the debut scheduled for October 18 at 12:30 p.m. ET. This highly anticipated event will feature two variants, expected to be the GT3 and GT3 Touring, continuing Porsche’s legacy of high-performance sports cars.
Earlier this year, Porsche introduced the 992.2-generation 911, starting with the Carrera and GTS models, which feature the new T-Hybrid powertrain. However, the extensive 911 lineup is set to expand further with the addition of a track-focused GT model.
Porsche released a teaser image showing the side profile of a 911, cloaked in shadows. Key details, such as the swan-neck rear wing and a visible roll bar through the rear window, indicate that this model is built for the racetrack. The teaser also shows a helmeted driver, emphasizing its motorsport-ready nature.
Along with the teaser, Porsche confirmed that two variants will debut, suggesting that the winged GT3 and wingless GT3 Touring are likely to be introduced as part of the 2027 lineup. The new models will be presented by Andreas Preuninger, the director of the GT model line, alongside Porsche brand ambassadors Walter Röhrl and Jörg Bergmeister.
The livestream of the reveal will be available on Porsche’s YouTube channel, where the company promises more individuality and innovative features for its customers. Enthusiasts can expect exciting updates during the event. Stay tuned for the full reveal on Friday.
