Another Lebanese doing a great job in circuit racing in the UAE is Raed Hassan. Raed is an established Lebanese driver, and is a known property in the world of motorsport. He is known in rallying, autocross and hill climb competitions all over the Middle East and has started in motorsports since 2004 in Oman.
Back to the GTA series and the last race in Dubai, and to the race repot, championship leader Karim Al Azhari fresh from a double win at Yas Marina two weeks ago, the mighty House of Portier Corvette team took another emphatic double win at Dubai Autodrome in round six of the Cytech UAE GT Championship. Both Al Azhari and Fabien Giroix triumphed in the GTA Class after they overcame an early challenge from the MSW Ginetta of Bassam Kronfli and Raed Hassan. But Hassan and Kronfli gave them a straight fight until the end of the race. Raed Hassan still lies in 2nd place in the championship with 2 rounds to go. Although championship hopes seem to be somehow narrow, they still hold the chance to lift the crown. They trail Al Azhari with 8 points and will be counting on a double win to claim the trophy.
We should also mention that Raed would be competing in speed tests in Lebanon and Syria this year and hill climb challenges in Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan.
