19:55 – With 4 drivers out of the rally, there will be 33 cars competing in the next 3 days, and it’s currently Qatar’s Rashid Al Naimi who’s taking the start onboard his Mitsubishi Evo IX.

19:48 – Group N competitors and title contenders Rodrigue Rahi, Eddy Abou Karam and Tamer Ghandour are all set and ready to go in the 38th edition of Rally of Lebanon.

19:45 – Plenty of other drivers have taken the start, including 2014 Rally of Lebanon winner Nicolas Amiouni, front-wheel drive class leader Henry Massaad, who’s aiming to secure the title this weekend.

19:40 – However, it won’t be easy for Al-Attiyah, as he’s facing 11-time Rally of Lebanon Roger Feghali, who’ll be driving a red Ford Fiesta R5 alongside Joseph Matar, and will be looking to extend his record.

16:30 – Unofficial news: Al Abiad, Khalil, Halabi and Weiss out of 2015 Rally of Lebanon. Read more here.

13:05 – After that argument, the 38th Rally of Lebanon drivers’ press conference has come to a conclusion. We’ll keep you updated later today during the ceremonial start that is happening at ATCL headquarters in Kaslik starting 7:00 PM.

13:00 – There’s been an argument between Roger Feghali and ATCL official Nabil Komboz regarding the super special stage which is taking place at the RPM circuit tomorrow night.

Roger Feghali: “I think it would be better to cancel the super special stage in RPM. How are supposed to make a good show in Mtein with the cold weather, it’s hard to put heat into the tyres, so there will be a lot of spinning. Also, who’s gonna stay up there till 1:00 AM? The problem is that the ATCL put the rules, and then they ask for our opinion. Usually you ask for someone’s opinion before you do something.”

Nabil Komboz: “The super special stage is a promotion for the rally. The time interval between every car is 3 minutes, so the all of the super special stage should take a maximum of one and a half hour, and we should be done by 11:00 PM tops. There’s also TV coverage for those who can’t make it.”

Roger Feghali: “No one would be interested in the super special stage because of the political turmoil that is going on. Nobody’s gonna be interesting in watching the super stage on TV because of what’s happening.”

12:40 – Gilbert Bannout: “We switched to an RRC because it suits my driving style and I feel much more comfortable in it. We’re gonna learn from Roger and Nasser, and our aim is to improve stage after stage, without making any mistakes, and compare our times to Roger.”

Henry Massaad: “This year was a bit tough because there was good competition, I was winning and Robert was winning, and we got to a point where I was leading the championship, but I can win and I can lose. I’m happy with the car, we have a good setup and I’m relaxed.”

12:30 – Nasser: “I am very happy to be here in Lebanon. Of course, our aim is to win, but Roger’s a tough competitor and it’s going to be a fierce fight. We will try to win, but if we don’t, we’ll at least score some good points for the Middle East Rally Championship. However, I am here to win.”

12:27 – Roger: “Thank God, all of the preparations are going well. Nasser’s participation is gonna make it tough for us. As we all know, Nasser is a fast driver, but we’re well prepared and I hope we can win.”
