May 23, 2015 – Volkswagen’s Jari-Matti Latvala leads a close battle for first place in Portugal, with Citroen’s Kris Meeke slowly closing in on his Finnish rival.
Latvala ended the first day 11 seconds ahead of Meeke, but the gap is now down to 6 seconds after today’s morning loop and with six special stages left till the end of the rally.
Sebastien Ogier, who struggled yesterday with the loose gravel, moved up from sixth to fourth overall and is now within 3.8s of teammate and third-place man Andreas Mikkelsen.
