January 24, 2015 – A careful Sebastien Ogier finished the third day of the Monte Carlo Rally still in first place overall, despite losing time in all three of today’s special stages.
Four special stages were scheduled for Saturday, but the opening special (SS9) was cancelled for safety reasons. Robert Kubica was the fastest man on the next stage (SS10), while Ogier was just ninth quickest, losing 40 seconds to his teammate Jari-Matti Latvala.
Ogier lost 2 seconds to his Finnish teammate in SS11, which was won by Sebastien Loeb, and a further 20 seconds in SS12, won by Kris Meeke. However, the Frenchman remains comfortably on the top of the standings.
Jari-Matti Latvala lies 2nd overall, 40 seconds behind his Volkswagen teammate and a full minute clear of his second VW teammate Andreas Mikkelsen who’s third. M-Sport Ford’s Ott Tanak lost fourth place overall and dropped back when he went off on the tenth special, handing the position to Citroen’s Mads Ostberg.
