Red Bull Car Park Drift Dammam 2011 Results and Pictures

Saeed Al-Mouri does it again and qualifies to the Finals i Beirut after an amazing display.

His Highness Prince Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Fahd Bin Abdullah Al Saud, President of the Tourism Development Council in the Eastern Region, crowned yesterday Saudi Championship Driver Saeed Al-Mouri as the second winning racer who will represent Saudi Arabia in the final round of the Red Bull Car Park Drift championship that will be held in Beirut city, Lebanon. Al-Mouri won the top position in the second round of Saudi Qualifier of Red Bull Car Park Drift Championship which was held at the parking of Fouad Center in Al-Khobar last Thursday. Spectator turn up of 8,000 enjoyed the sound of the roaring engines and screeching tyres and interacted actively with event from the very start and contributed a great deal to heightening enthusiasm and excitement of the competitors which is a sign of the huge fan-base of this sport in this country.

Real excitement started from the very beginning of the round when very strong competition escalated between the 24 drivers who almost had equal levels which rendered everybody uncertain about who would win this competition. Then the final results were announced by the judges who granted Saeed Al-Mouri (in his Hankook Lumina SS car that has been specially modified for this event) the top position as he had presented an amazing show which drove the spectators wild and proved that he would have a promising future in Saudi motorsport.

After the end of the competition, HH Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Fahd Bin Abdullah Al Saud, President of the Tourism Development Council in the Eastern Region said: “ I would like to extend my thanks to the huge crowds of spectators which came from everywhere around to support drivers as they are the real factor behind the success of this event. The winner of this round and the Saudi champion driver (who represented Saudi last in last year’s Red Bull Car Park Drift final in Lebanon and finished third) Saeed Al-Mouri said: “I would like to Thank God for winning this round. It would be a great honor for me to represent the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the final round in Lebanon and I promise you all to exert maximum efforts to win this championship and raise high the name of the Kingdom. I also extend my special thanks to HH Abdul Aziz Bin Fahd Bin Abdullah Al Saud, President of the Tourism Development Council in the Eastern Region, for his attending and for his valuable support to us and this sport. On his part, Saudi Racing champion and member of the judge panel Raed Abu Znada said: “I have been astonished by the amazing number of spectators who witnessed this round and their positive interaction with the competitors which confirms the wide spread of this sport in all cities of the Kingdom no to forget the high standard of competitors which had dazzled both spectators and the jury.”

The third and final round of this championship in the Kingdom will be held in Jeddah on the 9th of coming June.
