September 10, 2015 – On this day last year, the Lebanese motorsport scene lost one of its greatest talents, 2013 Red Bull King of Drift and 2014 Lebanese Drift Champion Jad Himo.
Himo was known as one of the best drifters in the country; he won the 2013 Red Bull Car Park Drift Lebanese qualifiers and thus earned himself a spot in the regional finals. In Dubai, and against highly skilled competitors from the Arab world, Himo produced a magnificent performance to take the 2013 Red Bull Car Park Drift regional title.
In 2014, he drifted his famous Hankook-sponsored Nissan 350Z to two Lebanese Drift Championship round victories and four podium finishes in total, which allowed him to clinch the 2014 title. He was awarded the championship trophy posthumously in ATCL.
