February 16, 2016 – Renault has officially revealed the Alpine Vision concept which previews the upcoming Alpine production sports car that is coming later this year.
The Alpine Vision concept, which is an evolution of the Celebration concept, features a retro design inspired by the Renault Alpine sports cars from the 1950s and 1960s, and Renault says that the design is 80% production ready.
There is no word on power, but the Alpine sports car is expected to borrow the 1.6-liter turbocharged engine found in the Clio RS. However, the engine will be positioned behind the driver and will reportedly make 300 horsepower.
The rear-wheel drive lightweight sports car should be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 4.5 seconds.
