Renault truck jumps over Lotus F1 car and sets new world record

A Renault truck has broken the Guinness World Record for the longest jump by a truck (83 feet/25 meters) – a record that was achieved as the truck flew over a Lotus Formula 1 car.

The stunt was set up by Lotus F1 Team’s sponsor EMC who wanted to “Redefine Motorsports”. Stunt coordinator and legendary Hollywood stuntman Mike Ryan (Fast & Furious, Terminator 2) drove the semi-truck, stuntman Martin Ivanov (Bond and Bourne films) drove the Lotus Formula 1 car.

Despite setting a new world record, Lotus had nothing to celebrate about as it finished the 2014 Formula 1 season down in eighth place in the World Constructors’ Championship, scoring only 10 points.
