December 15, 2015 – Richard Ibrahim had a roller coaster of a season in the 2015 Lebanese Hill Climb Championship, fighting for the lead, scoring wins and crashing on a couple of occasions; he ended the season with a broken shoulder, from which he recovered.
He made a fiery start to the Hill Climb championship in Deir El Qamar, competing with Robert Aaraj and Bassel Abou Hamdan for the FWD class lead onboard his Renault Clio Williams. He went quickest of the three on his second attempt, but an improvement from Robert in the third heat meant that Richard had to settle for second place in the class, just a tiny 0.01 second behind the winner. His great drive was good enough for an SM/3 class triumph.
Things didn’t go according to plan for Richard in his first run during the Falougha Hill Climb as he lost control of his Clio Williams and crashed, but he rejoined the competition and redeemed himself by producing two stellar drives in the second and third heats to take a second consecutive SM/3 class win and finish on the podium once more by completing the event in third place in FWD.
The final round in Bkassine was to forget; Richard successfully completed his first attempt, but crashed while pushing hard during the second run and broke his shoulder as a result. He was immediately hospitalized and has now recovered.
With 2 class wins and 2 podium finishes, Richard Ibrahim has a lot to be happy about in 2015; his Bkassine incident is now surely behind him and he should now be well prepared for more outstanding drives in 2016.
