September 4, 2016 – Rodrigue Rahi has been excluded from the final classification of the 39th Rally of Lebanon after FIA Technical Delegates discovered an illegal construction in the front left and rear right shock absorbers of his Mitsubishi Evo IX.
Rodrigue and co-driver Georges Chahwan were promoted to 2nd place overall after Abdo Feghali’s penalty, but their exclusion elevates Abdo to the runner-up spot. Moreover, it promotes Eddy Abou Karam to 3rd place overall and hands him the Group N class victory.
Rodrigue has the right to appeal the decision, as stated in the official report by the ATCL.
