December 17, 2015 – Rodrigue Rahi was the most consistent driver in Group N throughout the 2015 season, bagging consistent results in the Lebanese Rally Championship to take the title in the end, but his similarly consistent performance in the Lebanese Hill Climb Championship was crucial in securing him the Grp N crown.
In the first round of the season in Deir El Qamar, Rahi finished second in Group N behind his teammate Eddy Abou Karam (Mitsubishi Evo X), but it was a very close result, with Rodrigue pushing Eddy and finishing not far behind in the slightly slower Evo IX.
In Falougha, Group N competitors Tamer Ghandour and Eddy Abou Karam were out of reach as Rodrigue struggled with mechanical issues in his car, but that didn’t stop him from doing his best to take another podium position by finishing third in the class and scoring important points for the Lebanese Rally Championship.
The Evo X drivers, joined by Joseph Hindy, were once again too quick for Rodrigue in the final round of the season in Bkassine, but an improvement in the third and final heat saw him leap ahead of Eddy Abou Karam to take his third consecutive podium by finishing third in class.
Rodrigue Rahi did not have the fastest machinery in the 2015 Hill Climb season, but he was consistently close and netted results that eventually helped him secure the Group N title in the Lebanese Rally Championship. Can this consistency aid him secure a second consecutive title in 2016 or will he need more? We’ll find out when the the time comes.
