August 28, 2016 – Roger Feghali‘s aim to secure his 13th victory in Rally of Lebanon took a big hit as he was involved in a serious accident during his test in the Ford Fiesta R5 – the car of his choice for the event – on Saturday.
Feghali and co-driver Joseph Matar escaped the accident with no injuries and will have to switch to the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X R4 for the big event next week, meaning their chances of challenging for the win are now slimmer with Nasser Al-Attiyah and Abdo Feghali both competing in Skoda Fabia R5s.
“I was pushing a little bit too hard and I took the wrong racing line, eventually causing the accident, which is perhaps the most severe I have ever been in” explained Roger.
However, despite the accident, Roger’s eyes are still on the big prize as he seeks to extend his record in Rally of Lebanon to 13 wins.
