Roger Feghali made history this afternoon by winning the International Rally of Lebanon for a record 11th time, beating arch-rival Nasser Al-Attiyah by a comfortable margin.
Roger lost out to Nasser during Thursday night’s Super Special Stage, but a string of blisteringly fast and consistent performances on Friday and Saturday saw him take the lead and extend it to almost a minute after SS9.
Nasser staged a comeback on Sunday’s morning and afternoon loops, but his efforts simply weren’t enough to reduce the deficit; the Qatari settled for the runner-up spot, 29 seconds off Roger’s lead.
Roger’s 11th victory makes him the third most successful driver in the Middle East Rally Championship history, on par with Saeed Al-Hajri; Nasser Al-Attiyah is the second most successful (48 wins) driver behind Mohammed bin Sulayem (60 wins).
Abdo Feghali finished third overall after a very composed drive on the MINI RRC, defeating Ford Fiesta R5 driver Gilbert Bannout for the Lebanese Rally Championship title.
