February 14, 2017 – Infiniti recently concluded an exciting campaign providing eight lucky motorists from the Middle East the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a real Formula One car in Valencia Spain.
In order to participate in the competition, customers around the region had to apply for a test drive of the INFINITI Q50. They were then entered into a draw and provided they met the criteria required – were then heading to Valencia for this unique experience.
Mr. Salim Ghazaly was the winner representing Lebanon, through Rasamny-Younis Motor Company (RYMCO), the authorized distributor of INFINITI in Lebanon.
Commenting on the event, Mr. Ghazaly said: “The Infiniti F1 driving was a unique and once in a lifetime experience. Both the organizing and the F1 teams were very friendly and dedicated to making our stay really special.”
“Only a handful of people in the world get the chance to drive an F1 car. The immense power, loud sound, tight cockpit, and G-Force, enable a unique experience that could be overwhelming even for an experienced driver like myself. The first thing that came to mind at the end of my laps: What an incredibly amazing experience this has been.” He added.
Eight Middle East winners were selected to join winners from around the world for the ultimate prize. Held on the 8th of December 2016, the day started with the winners changing into racing gear and doing a number of recce laps around the track in a road car – to get a feel for the track and the racing lines.
This then followed an official safety and driver briefing followed by single-seater practice sessions as well as debrief from the engineers and telemetry. The briefing sessions were rounded off with physiotherapy and reflex machine training followed by the all-important Formula 1 driver briefing.
The winners were then given the experience they had been waiting for all day – driving the Formula 1 car around the track. As an added benefit, guests were allowed to bring one friend with them for the experience, and these ‘friends’ were given a two-seater passenger ride in the Formula 1 car.
