Sebastien Loeb eyes Dakar Rally in the future

As teams prepare themselves to gather in Peru for the start of the 2013 Dakar Rally, Sebastien Loeb has recently revealed that he would to take part in the rally at some point in the future.

The nine-times world rally champion has never competed in any kind of a rally raid event before, and has stated that he would likely take a more experienced navigator with him to the event rather than Daniel Elena or his wife Severine Loeb.

“One day, maybe I would like to go and do Dakar, but I wouldn’t do it with Severine and not with Daniel… for sure we would be lost!” said the Frenchman.

French car manufacturer Citroen won the event four times with its ZX, but Loeb admits that any attempt on the Dakar Rally would be a private effort, rather than with Citroen.

“If I did Dakar, this would be a private thing, it would not be something with Citroen,” he said.
