Racing Point Force India has confirmed that Sergio Perez is staying with the team in 2019.
The Mexican has been with the team since 2014. He delivered good results that include 5 podium finishes. He finished first in the ‘Class B’ championship in 2016 and ’17: meaning he finished seventh overall in those seasons.
Perez and his management were closely involved in the legal moves that led to the original Force India team going into administration. He was one of the main creditors and was paid his money when Racing Point purchased of the team’s assets.
The renewal came as no surprise and came after the team fully signed off deals with Perez’s Mexican sponsors.
