Singer blends vintage Porsche design with modern performance
Singer Vehicle Design has unveiled its latest creation: the Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe Reimagined by Singer, paying tribute to the rare 1980s M491 “Turbo Look” models. Though not affiliated with Porsche, Singer uses donor 911s from the 1989–1994 964 generation for its bespoke builds.
Classic M491 inspiration, modern engineering upgrades
Unlike past Singer builds rooted in early long-hood 911s, this model takes cues from the “G-body” 911s produced from 1984 to 1989. The project features a body crafted entirely from carbon fiber, with styling nods to the iconic M491 package. Customers can also opt for the signature whale tail spoiler.
Powerful 4.0L engine with cutting-edge tech
Under the hood is a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six, co-developed with Cosworth. The engine delivers 420 horsepower and is Singer’s first to feature variable valve timing. It pairs with a six-speed manual and includes five drive modes: Road, Sport, Track, Off, and Weather.
Custom interior and chassis refinement
Singer collaborated with Red Bull Advanced Technologies to strengthen the original chassis using steel and composites, enhancing rigidity. Inside, clients can fully customize finishes, leather, paint, and stitching, resulting in one-of-a-kind interiors.
Limited run and premium pricing
Only 100 commissions will be accepted. While pricing isn’t public, estimates suggest each bespoke build will exceed $500,000, depending on customization and donor vehicle condition.
