Someone was crazy enough to put a 2JZ in a Rolls-Royce Phantom

September 1, 2017 – There are common engine swaps such as putting a Toyota 2JZ in a BMW, and there are unusual engine swaps like a 2JZ-powered Jeep Wrangler or this one… a 2JZ-powered Rolls-Royce Phantom.

The Rolls-Royce Phantom comes from the factory with a 6.75-liter BMW V12 engine that produces 450 horsepower, so it’s not exactly short on power, but the Japanese owner of this Phantom decided to swap the V12 for the six-cylinder Toyota 2JZ, and turbocharged and supercharged it to produce 900 horsepower on high boost.

The transmission is a Toyota Aristo 4-speed automatic transmission that was modified in order to withstand the crazy amount of power that should easily be able to pull the 2.5-ton luxury saloon.
