February 21, 2017 – Spanish police have recently raided a factory in Catalonia that converts old models from Peugeot, Ford and Toyota into Ferrari replicas.
Police found 14 Peugeot 406s, Ford Cougars and Toyota MR2s undergoing conversion into numerous Ferrari models including F430, 360 Modena, F355 and 348. The replicas were being offered for sale online for around 43,000 USD per unit.
The owner of the illegal business was arrested for infringing Ferrari’s industrial property rights and for having 950 marijuana plants and the equipment to grow more of the forbidden plant.
