July 1, 2015 – Lebanese rally driver Elie Nehme will be taking the start of the 24th Cedars’ Rally, the third and penultimate round of the 2015 Lebanese Rally Championship, in his Renault Clio R3 on Sunday, July 5.
Thanks to Ghassan Khoury and his team’s efforts, the Clio R3 was repaired and prepared on time for the big event, in which Elie Nehme will take part alongside regular co-driver Louay Sakr, who will add to Elie’s racing experience.
Nehme and Sakr will be sponsored by USG BORAL and X-Concepts Automobili, and the pair are hoping to emulate their performance from last year’s edition of the Cedars’ Rally where they finished on the podium with a 3rd place in the front-wheel drive class.
Other than aiming to secure a great result, Elie Nehme will use the 24th Cedars’ Rally as a test bed for September’s 38th Rally of Lebanon, which is the fourth round of the Middle East Rally Championship, and is the highlight event of the Lebanese motorsport calendar.
Nehme is confident that with Louay Sakr’s assistance, the testing and preparation that were carried out and the support of his sponsors USG BORAL and X-Concepts Automobili, he will be able to fight for front-running positions in the front-wheel drive class.
The 2015 Cedars’ Rally officially starts from the Cedrus Hotel in Bcharre at 7:30 AM; teams and crews will tackle three loops of four special stages, which cover 97.44 kilometers of the 345.95-km total distance.
