May 20, 2015 – Lebanese rally driver Elie Nehme will return to the 2015 Lebanese Rally Championship during the second round of the season, also known as the Jezzine Rally, in the Renault Clio R3 he drove last year.
Nehme will be sponsored by USG BORAL and X-Concepts Automobili, and he plans to contest the remaining rounds of the season, the Cedar’s Rally and Rally of Lebanon, with the aforementioned brands.
Elie Nehme’s target for the 2015 Jezzine Rally is to fight for the front-wheel drive class victory, in addition to preparing for the Cedar’s Rally and Rally of Lebanon.
Louay Sakr will be Nehme’s co-driver in Jezzine, and Elie is confident that Sakr’s experience and the support of his sponsors will help him maintain his strong run of performances.
After a 10-year absence, Nehme returned to the Lebanese rallying scene in the 2013 Summer Rally, in which he finished 15th overall and took a class victory in the Suzuki Swift Sport, before following up with another class victory at the 36th Rally of Lebanon.
In 2014, he switched to the Renault Clio R3, and success didn’t take long as he finished third in class in the Cedars Rally and clinched the front-wheel drive runner-up spot in the 37th Rally of Lebanon.
The 2015 Jezzine Rally starts at 8:30 AM on Sunday, May 24, from Jezzine Main Square. Drivers will contest nine special stages, which cover 107.85 kilometers of the 237.46-km total distance.
