SSC’s Tuatara is moving closer to production reality as SSC North America recently announced that it has completed testing the model’s’ 6.9-liter twin-turbo V8 engine.
The engine will produce 1350 horsepower and 1733 Nm of peak torque; according to the American company, the engine is also capable of exceeding 1700 horsepower.
SSC founder Jerod Shelby said the Tuatara “can easily be driven on a daily basis in any climate or environment in the world and at the same time can roll out of the pit area onto a track like Nurburgring and easily handle any rigors that record will require.”
