The talented Lebanese driver, Stephanie Hobeika (22 years old), secured third place in the first round of the “Radical Club Challenge” Championship held at the British “Brands Hatch” circuit. In her debut race in the championship, Hobeika, from the town of Baskinta, climbed to the podium, winning the third-place cup in a race she participated in aboard a “Radical” car in the “SR1” category.
Hobeika is the only Lebanese driver competing in the championship and faces off against young male drivers, as the competition includes both male and female participants. She successfully competed against male drivers in the “SR1” category, where she was the only female driver in this class.
It is noteworthy that this is Hobeika’s first race aboard a car, as her previous participation had been limited to go-karting. The second round of the championship will take place next May at the famous “Silverstone” circuit in the UK. After the race, Stephanie said, “I am very happy with the good result I achieved in my first race in the ‘Radical’ Championship. Competing against young drivers motivates me to keep working hard in the championship, and five more rounds await me. I will try to gain more experience in this current championship, and my goal is to participate in ‘GT3’ and ‘GT4’ races in the future.”
Hobeika represented Lebanon last October in the go-karting competition held in Valencia, Spain, as part of the “Motorsport Games” organized by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) over five days. She also participated in the 2023 Women’s World Karting Championship and achieved impressive results.
In 2019, Hobeika, who is also pursuing her studies at the University of Bath in the UK, participated in the Lebanese Karting Championship and achieved excellent results, earning several podium finishes.
