October 28, 2015 – Subaru introduced a limited new model at the Tokyo Motor Show today; the good news is that it’s a souped up WRX STI, with more power and a more aggressive appearance, but the bad news is that it’s for the Japanese market only.
Dubbed the WRX STI S207, the sports sedan, of which only 400 units will be produced, is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter flat-four that makes 324 horsepower and 431Nm of torque, which makes it 20hp and 38Nm more powerful than a standard WRX STI. Other mechanical enhancements include an upgraded Brembo braking system, quicker steering-gear ratio, in addition to a fine-tuned Active Torque Vectoring.
Outside, the S207 version can be easily distinguished thanks to an optional dry carbon rear wing, new front grille, a front apron, 19-inch black BBS rims and bigger exhaust tips.
The S207 will be available in only four colors, WR Blue Pearl, Crystal White Pearl, Crystal Black Silica and NBR Challenge Package Yellow Edition.
