Subaru unveils refreshed WRX and WRX STI for 2018

January 6, 2017 – The Subaru WRX and WRX STI have received a slight refresh for 2018.

The two sports sedans feature a restyled front fascia with redesigned LED Steering Responsive Headlights that help illuminate curves in nighttime driving. All 2018 models have upgraded interior materials, better noise isolation and a larger 5.9-inch high-definition multi-function display.

The WRX features new front and rear suspension tuning and revised electric power steering, while the WRX STI also gets suspension tuning, in addition to a revised AWD system and significantly upgraded brakes.

Power output remains the same in both models, with 268 hp for the WRX from the 2.0-liter turbocharged BOXER engine and 305 hp for the STI from the 2.5-liter turbocharged BOXER engine.

The new models reach Subaru retailers in spring 2017.
