After we’ve seen leaked images of the car a couple days ago, Subaru has officially pulled the wraps off its new WRX Concept at the 2013 New York Auto Show yesterday evening.
Considerably lower and wider than the current WRX, the new Concept hints at the design language of the next generation WRX; it features a carbon-fiber roof to enhance the center of gravity and reduce weight.
The hexagonal grille and air intakes, alongside the aggressive rear diffuser, are designed to enhance aerodynamics and add downforce.
The 2013 WRX Concept features a new paint color, “WR Blue Pearl III“, in addition to Fluorescent Yellow used as an accent on the WRX badge on the front grille, the brake calipers and the exhaust tip finishers.
Subaru’s sports car is equipped with BBS “RI-D” One Piece Forged Duralumin wheels and 245/40ZR20 Dunlop tires with an exclusive tread pattern.
