Subaru WRX STI sets four-door sedan record on the Nürburgring

July 26, 2017 – Subaru recently set a new record on the Nürburgring Nordschleife as its WRX STI Type RA NBR Special matched the Porsche 918 Spyder.

The WRX STI race car lapped the Nordschelife in 6 minutes 57 seconds to become the fastest four-door sedan ever around the German circuit. However, the Subie is far from street legal.

The WRX STI Type RA NBR Special is built by Prodrive and it hides a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that pushes 600 horsepower and is mated to a WRC-spec transmission. It is the same car that set a record at the Isle of Man TT.

Subaru confirmed that it will release a video of the full lap soon.
