The MERC Championship has been dominated last year by Qatari driver Nasser Al Attiyah. The championship spanned last year over 6 rallies after canceling the Syrian Rally due to the reasons we all know about right now. The 2011 edition saw an epic battle in the rally of Lebanon which was finally won by Lebanese Champion Roger Feghali.
The 2012 Calendar practically look the same with 7 rallies confirmed for the championship. Big question marks can be asked about the Syrian rally after all the happenings in Syria now a day but nevertheless it’s still included in the championship.
This year though things re looking a bit different where there is an increase in the number of s2000 cars participating in the champion ship after the inclusion of Abdulaziz Al Kuwari and rumors of the inclusion of many others
The championship will kick out in Qatar on the 27th of January.
