The heat was ON in Abu Dhabi which hosted the first round of the Red Bull Air Race after a break that lasted 3 years, since 2010. I had the chance to witness another challenging event with the support of Saudi Sports Group and learned a lot from this new experience.
18 pilots were divided in 2 categories: Master Class (12 pilots) and Challenger Class (6 pilots) flew the aerial course over the crystal blue water of the Abu Dhabi bay. I was on time for the qualifications that were held at the corniche area! Everything was new to me and it was quite challenging to discover this new type of sport and especially to find out all the small details that will help in delivering top-notch pictures.
I didn’t miss the chance to take the pit-lane walk at the airport to meet the pilots and have an up close look at the airplanes!
A great learning experience was the result of that visit.
