For the first time since its inception way back in 1950, F1 is having three Grand Prix in as many weekends. Teams and drivers are getting ready for 17 action-packed days, that will prove to be a crucial period of the season.
Sebastian Vettel is heading to Le Castellet for the French Grand Prix with the championship lead in hand. The stage is set for a tough battle between Vettel and championship rival Lewis Hamilton who is expecting a boost in engine power this weekend. The trio fighting for the constructors’ title – Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull – will also put a good show.
There’s all to play for the midfield teams too. With just 37 points splitting fourth-placed Renault and eighth-placed Haas, it’s extremely tight. McLaren, Force India and Toro Rosso are also in the mix for that fourth position, and this particular scrap could have a clear leader post-Silverstone.
The action-packed period begins this Friday with opening practice in France and ends with the conclusion of the British Grand Prix. The Austrian Grand Prix will take place in the middle.
