The Largest, Most Advanced Smart Car Yet

Discover the new Smart #5, the brand’s largest car ever, arriving in Europe in 2025 with cutting-edge tech and impressive off-road capabilities.

#Introducing Smart’s Largest Car Ever: The Smart #5

The new Smart #5 is officially the largest vehicle Smart has ever produced, set to make its European debut in early 2025 following its initial launch in China.

Visually, the Smart #5 closely resembles its predecessor, the Concept #5, with a boxy yet refined design that mirrors the Mercedes GLB. The vehicle features distinctive headlight and taillight designs that span the car’s width, contributing to its unique appearance. Just like the Smart #1 and #3, the #5 is packed with quirky design elements.

The interior, however, marks a significant upgrade from previous models. Smart has enhanced the comfort and luxury in the #5, equipping it with highly adjustable front seats that offer significant recline angles, perfect for relaxation during charging breaks. The centerpiece of the cabin is a pair of 13-inch AMOLED screens, one in the center console and one for the passenger, providing a cutting-edge user experience.

Adding to the tech-savvy interior, Smart has incorporated a massive 25.6-inch augmented-reality head-up display, along with a state-of-the-art generative AI voice assistant, making the #5 a leader in automotive technology for 2024.

While European performance specifications have not yet been confirmed, it’s anticipated that the Smart #5 will offer both single and dual-motor configurations similar to the #1 and #3. The vehicle is powered by a 100kWh battery and features an 800-volt architecture, enabling ultra-fast charging. Although global range figures are still pending, Smart claims the #5 can achieve up to 459 miles under Chinese certification standards. The #5 also offers various drive modes, including new off-road options like Sand, Snow, Mud, and Rock.

Before its official reveal, Smart heavily promoted the #5’s off-road capabilities, emphasizing that it’s more than just a stylish SUV. To complement its ruggedness, Smart has launched a range of accessories in China, known as the Adventurers’ Collection. This package includes a roof light bar, roof storage system, side steps, and a side ladder. Smart is currently evaluating the possibility of bringing this package to the European market.
