The most powerful letter comes to Lebanon: The BMW M4 GTS and BMW M2 Coupé

July 25, 2016Bassoul-Heneine Sal, BMW Group’s oldest importer in the world welcomed the eagerly anticipated BMW M4 GTS and BMW M2 models to Lebanon, with both M models bringing Motor racing genes wrapped in an exciting design and coupled with unlimited everyday usability, a combination that has defined the character of the M automobiles from the start.

The BMW M4 GTS is a special edition limited to 700 units to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the BMW M3. The new model comes with its powerful, motor sport-inspired looks and high-performance technology further enhancing the capabilities of the BMW M4.

The limited edition model comes with a six-cylinder in-line turbo engine with innovative water injection technology to give the 3.0-litre unit a substantial power boost. The water injection system raises the engine’s output significantly – to 500 hp – and increases torque to 600 Nm (442 lb-ft), giving it the ability to accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in a mere 3.8 seconds and hits a limited top speed of 305 km/h.

The standard-fitted seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission (M DCT) selects the optimum ratio for every driving situation with no interruption in the flow of power as it makes its way to the rear wheels. The driver can also select gears manually using either shift paddles on the steering wheel or the selector lever. The Drivelogic shift programs and Launch Control have been re-tuned to the engine’s increased output. The weight-minimised, exclusive M light-alloy wheels in star-spoke 666 M Styling are forged and polished, and come in Acid Orange.
Bringing further inspiration from the race track, the BMW M4 will come with further optional equipment, including the M Carbon Compound Wheels. With its innovative technology bringing significant reduction in unsprung and rotating masses, positively affecting the car’s acceleration, deceleration, steering responses and vibration levels.

Joining the limited edition M4 GTS is the BMW M2 Coupé comes as a successor to the BMW 1 Series M Coupé. The new model continues the tradition of the compact high-performance BMW sports cars that started over 40 years ago with the BMW 2002 turbo. With the M2 Coupé’s powerful six-cylinder in-line engine with either automatic or manual gearbox producing 370 hp and 465 Nm, rear-wheel-drive agility, lightweight aluminium M Sport suspension and extrovert styling, it has all the ingredients to deliver sheer driving pleasure.

With the lightweight aluminium front and rear axles from the BMW M2/M4 models, forged 19-inch aluminium wheels with mixed-size tyres, M Servotronic steering with two settings and suitably effective M compound brakes, the new BMW M2 Coupé has raised the bar once again in the compact high-performance sports car segment when it comes to driving dynamics. The electronically controlled Active M Differential, which optimises traction and directional stability, also plays a significant role here. And even greater driving pleasure is on the cards when the Dynamic Stability Control system’s M Dynamic Mode (MDM) is activated. MDM allows wheel slip and therefore moderate, controlled drifts on the track.
