Roger Feghali aiming at another record-breaking run in Rumman Hill Climb this year!
After setting his famous unbreakable record back then in 2007, Roger Feghali’s return to the famous Jordanian event this year is anticipated to be on the highest level. The very clear target in mind is: breaking the record.
Roger is surely a record man. He practically made it his job to smash records both in Lebanon and Jordan, becoming a legend is simply about records. Two days from now he will be heading to destroy his record and to give the other drivers who have been trying for a while now, more headache in the process of trying to break the record.
Roger came close to bettering his record during Sunday’s practice session when he clocked a 1:49.5, which is just 0.75 seconds shy of his 1:48.76. However, his official attempt won’t be an easy task as he faces some tough and desperate competition in Houssam Salem, Fadi Hamadeh and other talented drivers.
Roger though is on another level and his main competitor will be himself. His weapon of choice for the Hill Climb is a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 6 Prototype equipped with a lightning-quick sequential gearbox engineered and designed by his e. The 10-time Rally of Lebanon victor is currently hard at work fine-tuning his car for the event which inaugurates on the 23rd of this month.
The Rumman Hill Climb has been around since 1953; it features a 3-kilometer 4-meter-wide course with 27 corners; the longest straight is 150 meters, while track elevation rises 257 meters from start to finish.
Last year’s event was won by Houssam Salem on a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9 after crossing the line in 1 minute 49.88 seconds.
Few doubt Roger and his ability to accomplish his goals …
After the Rumman Hill Climb ends, the epic battle of the Rally of Lebanon will start … things then will get more interesting.
