March 15, 2017 – In stock form, a 1990 Mercedes-Benz 190E with the 2.6-liter inline-six engine generates 160 horsepower, which isn’t a figure that will send shivers down your spine.
However, the lack of power inspired one Lebanese owner – Tony Touma – to swap the 2.6-liter engine for something a lot fiercer: a 5.5-liter naturally-aspirated AMG V8 from a C55 AMG (W203). His V8-powered 190E now makes 365 horsepower and 510 Nm of torque.
Tony built the car himself and he drives it almost on a daily basis. The “190E AMG”, as he likes to call it, has also been given a manual transmission, Brembo brakes, Bilstein shock absorbers and a custom wide body kit.
The 190E AMG isn’t Tony’s sole creation as he’s currently working on a drift-spec AMG-powered Mercedes C-Class (W202) that we could see in the Lebanese Drift Championship.
