This Volvo makes more than 1000 horsepower from a V10 engine

April 21, 2017 – The Volvo 200 series encompasses some pretty large sedans and wagons, big enough to fit any sort of engine, like a Toyota 2JZ-GTE… or Viper V10.

Joachim Muri, the owner of a Volvo 242DL, wanted to execute an engine swap that no one had seen before, which is why he bought a Viper V10 engine and increased its displacement from 8.3 liters to 8.6 liters. He carried out other modifications, including the installation of forged pistons, in order to accommodate two Turbonetics T4 P60 turbochargers.

The result is a mean-looking Volvo that produces 1,141 horsepower and 1,800 Nm of torque on high boost and 911 horsepower and 1,400 Nm of torque on low boost.
