Toomas Heikkinen and Marcus Gronholm in hospital after Rallycross crash

Double World Rally champion Marcus Gronholm and Finnish rally driver Toomas Heikkinen were transferred to a hospital after two seperate crashes during practice for the 2012 X Games in Los Angeles, US.

Gronholm was knocked unconscious when his Ford Fiesta RallyCross crashed into a concrete barrier during his practice run, while Heikkinen had to crawl out his Fiesta after slamming into a steel ramp during a jump attempt.

Both men were immediately hospitalized, with Gronholm escaping serious injury and Heikkinen suffering from a broken ankle and some minor abdominal pain.
