Top Class Line-Up Revealed For Jordan Rally 2014

A top class entry has been unveiled for the Jordan Rally, which will be the third round of the FIA Middle East Rally Championship from May 1-3.

As the entry closed today (Sunday), organisers were delighted with the top quality field which has confirmed that all the leading drivers from across the region are entered alongside a strong local challenge.

Reigning FIA Middle East champion and current leader Nasser Saleh Al-Attiyah, who has won the opening two rounds in Qatar and Kuwait, leads the field with the UAE’s Khalid Al Qassimi, Saudi Arabia’s Yazeed Al Rajhi and Qatar’s Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari all among the big names confirmed.

From the local stars, National Champion Marouf Abu Samra is sure to pose a big threat along with the likes of Ala’ Khalifa, Ala’a Rasheed and Husam Salem.

“It’s one of the strongest fields we have had for a Jordan Rally so we are looking forward to a top class event,” said Khaled Zakaria, Chairman of the Organisers. “It will be an intriguing rally. We have made some tweaks to make it more challenging and the spectator event on the evening of May 1 in Abdali will provide it with a high profile launch so it is all systems go now.”

A total of 28 cars are entered with 12 nationalities represented.
