Toyota’s famous sports car will be making a comeback, confirmed GT 86 chief engineer Tetsuya Tada.
Tada, in an interview with Asia One, said that Toyota President Akio Toyoda has asked him to make a Supra successor as soon as possible, in addition to a second sports car positioned below the GT 86.
We’re not sure which of these sports cars will be co-developed with BMW, but we hope for more information soon, especially regarding the entry-level model as it remains a mystery.
It will also take the Japanese brand “at least five years” to develop the sports cars, with the Supra successor taking priority, so don’t expect these cars to land in your showrooms anytime soon.
