Toyota is the world’s most valuable automaker

October 5, 2015 – American brand consultancy Interbrand has released its annual ranking of the best global brands, which valuates each brand’s financial performance, role, and strength.

In the automotive realm, Toyota is the undisputed number 1 – and it has been so for the past several years – for 2015, gaining 16 percent in value (49 billion dollars) compared to 2014 and moving from #8 to #6 in the overall list.

Behind Toyota, BMW ($37.2 billion – #11 overall) managed to leap ahead of Mercedes-Benz ($36.7 billion – #12 overall) and they occupy 2nd and 3rd places respectively, followed by Honda ($22.9 billion) in 4th place and #19 overall.

Outside the top 20 were Volkswagen (#35), Ford (#38), Hyundai (#39), Audi (#44), Nissan (#49), Porsche (#56), Chevrolet (#85), Land Rover (#87) and MINI (#98).
