Toyota is set to unveil a convertible version of its GT 86 small sports car at the Geneva Motor Show in March, the Japanese company has announced after it released a teaser image of the car.
The FT 86 Open concept, as Toyota calls it, previews a possible future development model and will be shown in Geneva to gauge public reaction to a convertible version of the rear-wheel-drive car.
According to the Japanese automaker, tests are already underway on a prototype model; so we can expect a production model by 2014 if feedback is positive.
The sketch reveals a 2+2 seating layout, but nothing else. We’ll have to wait the Geneva Motor Show in order to find out whether Toyota’s opting for a hard or soft top. Also, there are no words on a Subaru BRZ variant.
